Aussie female rugby player Kate Latham has gone from being the tallest player in the world to being a bit of an tomboy after losing a significant amount of weight.
The 22-year-old from Victoria was playing in the women’s game in Australia and had not been eating properly, but her coach and a physio said she was in for a surprise.
Latham was originally set to play in the Australian Sevens Series with the Canberra Renegades in January, but was told she would not be able to play at the end of the competition.
“She said ‘you’re not going to be able play on Australia Day’, and she said ‘I don’t know what’s happening,'” Latham’s coach John Steed told ABC News.
“And I was like ‘what’s going on?'”
She went on to lose the weight and have surgery to lose another 2kg to make her “almost as big as me”.
“I’ve always had a lot of muscle and it was just like ‘oh my god, I’m in so much trouble’,” she said.
