Male testosterone supplements can increase male sex drive and increase testosterone, new study finds

Male testosterone is a hormone that stimulates the production of the male sex hormone testosterone, which helps build muscle mass.

It also helps to control blood pressure and cholesterol.

But a new study by scientists at the University of Exeter has found that men taking testosterone supplements have a lower risk of heart disease and stroke.

Professor John Stott, who led the study, said the research had implications for people taking testosterone-containing supplements.

“This study highlights the potential role of testosterone-related supplements in preventing cardiovascular disease and diabetes,” he said.

“Although the association between male-specific testosterone supplementation and cardiovascular disease risk has been known for some time, the current study provides the first direct evidence of this in men.”

Mr Stott said men who took testosterone supplements for two years had lower levels of triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.

“They had lower risk factors for cardiovascular disease, and their overall health was more improved,” he explained.

“However, there was a substantial reduction in total mortality in this group.”

Mr Shrader said testosterone supplements should not be used as a routine part of a healthy diet, as they were not tested for toxicity.

“If you take testosterone supplements, do you have a risk of cardiovascular disease?

We know that they can raise blood pressure,” he told AAP.”

A lot of people take these testosterone-supplemented supplements and the amount of testosterone in them may actually increase the risk of cancer.”AAP
